Turned off computer and installed the CD-RW, DVD, floppy drive, and hard disk drive. Powered back up and booted from the Windows XP Pro CD. Now I'm getting the error msg "NTLDR is missing" when I try to boot from either CD. So what could be causing this problem?? I'm guessing/hoping that it is a problem with

Two questions.
This week I had an emergency so I attempted a restore from the 7 ghost disks (DVD+R's) that norton ghost created for me during the imaging of my system. Now when I boot up I get the dreaded NTLDR is missing message. I've performed an FDISK & chose the correct partition as active but...still get same message.

I rechecked the set up - i initally had dual HDDs and a CDRW, I have disconnected the slave CDRW and installed the DVD RW as the secondary Msater: and the If this happeded right after you installed the DVD0-Rom I doubt it is because the NTLDR is fragmented. This will also show when O/S system can not be found

OT: computer NTLDR is missing
The laptop, which has a DVD-ROM drive, but no floppy drive. A PC, also with a DVD+/-RW drive, but no floppy drive. What am I likely doing wrong? NTLDR processes boot.ini. Since the error message reports "Missing ntldr", there is no point in examining boot.ini. I can think of two reasons why you might get this

NTLDR missing when secondary slave HD present
That wouldnt be a problem but I also have two burners - DVD and CD and one DVD reader. These dont work well at all with the Maxtor card. Says NTLDR missing when I put the bootup HD there. Or whats causing the 200 gig to hang sometimes with the Nforce? Would partitioning it to two 100 gigs solve the problem?

Stop ik de 2e harddisk (nu opeens volgens het BIOS primary Master) in het systeem dan start het systeem niet op en geeft een "NTLDR missing" foutmelding. NTLDR missing means that it either is missing, because it cant be read, or because its looking in the wrong place for it, due to some crap on the hard Bios boot order should ideally be floppy first (if you have one) then CD/DVD drive and last, the HD. Your Bios being wrong could account for all of what you
